جاء في مقدمة الكتاب لسماحة الشيخ المربي عبد الرضا معاش:

للقصة تأثير بالغ في نفوس الناس حيث تريهم ما يغفلون عنه أو تقصّ عليهم خبر قوم ما أو شخص ما، فيأخذون العبرة منها بدون نصائح مباشرة، حيث ينفر الناس غالباً سيما المراهق والشاب من النصح المباشر، ولذلك كانت القصة ولا تزال مدخلاً طبيعياً يدخل منه أصحابُ الرسالاتِ والدعواتِ والهداةُ والقادةُ، إلىٰ الناس وإلىٰ عقولهم وقلوبهم، ليلقوا فيها بما يريدونهم عليه، من آراء، ومعتقداتٍ، وأعمالٍ.

من خلال محاضراتي في الجامعات والمراكز العلمية والثقافية والدينية والبرامج التلفزيونية والتفاعل في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، وجدتُ أن للقصة ديناميكية خاصة وتتمتع بحيوية فريدة من نوعها، ولها دور كبير في التأثير علىٰ الآخرين... فالكلام مهما يكن جميلاً في سرده وبيانه وبلاغته ولكن من دون قصة تشعر بفقدان شيء، من هنا من النادر في محاضراتي ألا أذكر قصة أو شاهداً تاريخياً، حتى في الجامعات بحضور الأساتذة والطلاب الأكاديميين أجد أن القصة تقدّم راحة للنفس وتقرب الفكرة للمستمع وتنضج طرح الأفكار.

فإن القصص تمثل خبرات وتجارب ومشاعر وأحداثاً مرّ بها الإنسان في حياته سواء الواقعية منها أو تلك التي من إبداع التخيل الإنساني.

وأثناء الإعداد للمحاضرات، وجدتُ أن هناك الكثير من القصص في مختلف العلوم والمواضيع ممكن أن أجمعها في كتاب منفرد، فكان كتاب: قصص اخترتها لكم.
